There’s a quote by the legendary Wayne Dyer that brings to light the power of now – and the significance that courage plays into fully realizing one’s potential.
“Don’t die with your music still inside you.”
As a self-empowerment coach for highly-creative and spiritually-minded women who are here to express their life’s purpose through artistic endeavors, I’m fully aware of how much courage it takes to stand in front of an audience and share your unique gifts.
Many adults struggle with courage and end up “holding back” – for an entire lifetime – gifts and talents that could so easily be appreciated by others.
This “holding back” can be triggered by a multitude of things – lack of self-worth, lack of confidence, fear of criticism, fear of rejection, fear of failure, social anxiety, depression, spiritual disconnect – and it can keep one, metaphorically, locked in a room while holding on to a gift that nobody ever sees, but them.
As an example, world-renowned artist Vincent Van Gogh never lived to see the impact his creative work had on the world. One can only imagine how his life, which was filled with pain and constant struggle, could have changed had he known.
On an episode of the British television show, Doctor Who – a fictional Van Gogh was brought forward into the future to witness how the world, over a century later, has experienced his artistic talents. It’s an incredibly moving scene – and a must-watch: Van Gogh and the Modern Day Experience
This emotionally-powerful episode highlights a truth that so many in our world battle with every day – and it leaves us with a thought-provoking nugget of wisdom. Trust the “ripple effect” of the work you put your heart and soul into – even if you’re not seeing the results now. There is someone somewhere, and often times many, truly appreciating the fruits of your labor.
This is at the heart of my life purpose legacy work with artists, writers, innovators, and creative thinkers – many of whom are searching for purposeful ways to bring their authentic voice to the world through their creative work.
I genuinely love hearing artists, writers, filmmakers, creative visionaries, and creative entrepreneurs tell their life stories. Through their words, through their laughter, through their tears – I hear threads of meaning, threads of purpose. And I was blessed with a divine gift for weaving these threads together in a way that unveils a richer life meaning, bringing about deep clarity and “ah-ha” moments.
And it’s the “ah-ha” moments that pave the way toward one’s life purpose legacy.

Beautifully written. Great reminder of how our light shines on others and sometimes we have no realization of who and how it will impact them. Also a great reminder of the importance of not holding back in our lives! Thank you!
