As we approach another new moon phase, which marks the beginning of a lunar cycle, I’m reminded of how the moon serves as a metaphor for transition, starting in darkness and uncertainty – and moving into light and possibility.

Whether we’re on a journey of self-discovery or contemplating a new project or creative direction, the moon offers us wisdom that can light our way, providing insights that spark new ideas, questions and thoughts.

The new moon phase is a perfect time to embrace a new beginning, even if it feels uncertain.

It’s a wonderful period for reflection, pondering where we’ve been, how we got to where we are now – and where we might go from here. It’s an opportunity to explore new ways of thinking and experiment with new ways of being and doing.

It also serves as a beautiful invitation to go within the depths of our soul to uncover hidden desires and dreams that have been pushed away by fear, breathing new life into something that “could have been.”

The energies of the dark moon can feel especially potent. That’s because they are.

They represent the unknown and can send a magnetic pull to lure our willingness and our desire to find out, “What is the gift in this darkness that is waiting to be discovered by me?”

American poet Mary Oliver once wrote, “Someone I loved once gave me a box full of darkness, It took me years to understand that this, too, was a gift.”

What are the gifts that are waiting for you in the new moon phase?

What light could be found by venturing over to the dark side of the moon?

Come join me for a brand-new virtual workshop, Finding Light on the Dark Side of the Moon.

It will be a rich 30-day experience as we travel through the moon phases, as they’re happening in real-time, and explore a series of questions, journaling prompts, and exercises designed to help you unearth your creative voice.

We’ll begin on the dark side of the moon, a place that has never seen the light of day – to see what has been discarded there and dismissed for one reason or another. Then we’ll move into nine different moon phases, including the blue moon phase, to explore hidden treasures and dots that have never been connected.

If you’d like to explore the potential of your hidden dreams, unearthing your creative voice, I invite you to join me for a special “late winter into spring” version of Finding Light on the Dark Side of the Moon – which starts on March 19th.

Here’s to seeing darkness in a whole new light!
